Existing contractual arrangements stay in place. Existing operational implementation and execution stay exactly the same.
How does Cicada work?
All MNOs already have roaming contracts with each other and these will remain in place. As do all other operational and delivery procedures
Cicada Exchange simply offers you an additional parallel way to agree prices and traffic volumes.
Signup and Trading
By signing up to the exchange, the parties agree to honor the trades entered into through the exchange.
After every completed trade, the DCH and Steering providers are automatically notified so that they can update their systems to give effect to the new price/volume agreement.
Why become a Member of the Exchange?
Better prices for roaming.
Price discovery will be better on Cicada Exchange. It does not depend on personal relationships, it does not depend on your share of your national market and how much traffic you can send back or balance/net-off.
It is a simple RFQ mechanism that allows trading on any roaming routes.

There is no charge to become a Member of the Exchange and by being a Member, Operators can see the prices in markets that they are interested in and trade when it suit.
